New Entrance Change for Milwaukee County ARES Meetings

While our Milwaukee ARES meetings, on the 1st Tuesday of every month, will still meet in the same conference room (Room #1045), at the Behavioral Health Building, they would prefer that we enter the building through the main entrance, so that we can properly follow their sign-in and security procedures.  Note that when entering:

  1. You will most likely be checked with a metal detector.  Therefore, please leave any knives or other weapons in your car.
  2. Please wear your ARES ID, or have another form of ID available
  3. They will ask where you are going.  That will be Conference Room 1045.

Silent Key Gary Grant N9MGJ

It is with a sad and heavy heart that we announce the death of Gary Grant, N9MGJ.  Gary passed away on Tuesday, October 20th.

Gary was an active member of Milwaukee County ARES, Milwaukee Skywarn, Red Cross and other Radio Clubs.  He had a great sense of humor and would always lend a hand when needed.   He has participated in numerous Ham Radio Public Service Events and Drills.  He was just a all around likeable guy and  he will be greatly missed by his family, friends and the Amateur Radio Community.

Milwaukee County ARES SET Exercise September 26th, 2015 @ 9:00 am – 11:00 am

The Milwaukee ARES SET is coming up this Saturday, 9/26/15, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Brian/KC9GMW is putting together the script for the SET (Tornado Disaster).

This will be a virtual SET. Which means, even if you are given an assignment to deploy, you can remain in the comfort of your home, and just play the role.

We are trying to make some key assignments ahead of time.

If you may be available for the SET, please let us know

Thank you,

We are expecting a major flood in Milwaukee by the end of the month.  At least that is what is scheduled for our annual Simulated Emergency Test (SET).

Mark your calendars for Saturday,  September 26th from 9:00AM to 11:00AM.  This will be the date of the Milwaukee ARES annual SET.

The scenario will be a major flood in parts of Milwaukee County.  Flooding will actually occur a day or so prior to 9/26.  The SET will be ARES response to communication action from response activities.  More information coming shortly.
