It is with sad news I announce the passing of Pearl Capello WB9BZC. Pearl passed away after being hospitalized on June 22, 2021. Pearl was 94 years old but had a zest for life and was not only in involved in Public Service Ham Radio Activities but also was involved in many other outside activies. Pearl was best known as being the best NET CONTROL bar none for Public Service Events and coordinated the Communications for Milwaukee ARES largest area event called the MS Bike Dam Bike Tour. For 33 years Pearl, WB9BZC put her blood, sweat and tears to this event. It is with her leadership and coordination that made this the best Ham Radio Public Service Event that received rave reviews from MS National HQ staff and other Ham Radio groups.
Pearl was proud of this event and proud of the Hams that worked the event and it showed. She was always talking about the MS Best Dam Bike Tour and named the team the Best Dam Hams. We will never forget Pearl and plan to honor her and all of the memories we had with her on a memorial website that is being setup called pearlcapello.com. Through this website you will be able to share your memories and view the many events and activities Pearl participated in and all the lives she has touched upon. RIP Pearl Capello, WB9BZC SK.

For those who didn’t hear, we lost a friend of ARES yesterday. Skip Voros WD9HAS passed away yesterday morning. Skip was a great partner of ARES and provided many our severe weather trainings. He was that calm voice on the radio during so many weather nets over the years. He will be deeply missed by many of us. SK WD9HAS Skip Voros RIP.
Skip Voros (WD9HAS) of the Milwaukee Area Skywarn Association for his outstanding contribution in Skywarn webpage development, annual 6 hour weather presentations, and spotter forums via educational, scientific, and community outreach

It’s is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Warren, K9IZV. Warren was very active and an icon in the ham community and knew just about all hams in Wisconsin. He participated in field days, picnics and swap Fests and public service events. If you were a ham and Warren would see you at a Ham Event he would quickly take note and log you into his database. Warren had thousands of records on how many Hams check into various nets and events and what time and where these hams checked in. Warren hung out on the MRC (Milwaukee Repeater Club) 146.91 repeater in Milwaukee and was instrumental in greeting new hams and teaching them more about ham radio. Warren was responsible for gathering the ham community for Fish Fry’s and other social events. Warren Schall, K9IZV SK. You will be missed.
